Synopsis
A story about trust, betrayal and conspiracy of South and North Korean secret agents.
Kim Hyun Joon is an secret agent who belongs to a top secret South Korean organization known as the “NSS” whereas Vick is an assassin who works in another secret organization located in the United States called “IRIS” and was ordered to kill Hyun Joon.
Choi Seung Hee is a psychological analyst who plays an important role in bring Hyun Joon into the “NSS.” Jin Sa Woo is Hyun Joon’s friend and could be enemy and falls in love with Seung Hee as well.
Character Description
Kim Hyun Joon
He had lost his parents in a car accident when he was young. He doesn’t have much memory of them because of the shock of their death. Not only that, he always carries a sense of void and loneliness in his heart.
But his friend Jin Sa Woo had filled that void. They are close friend and swore to trust each other and unchanging friendship for life.
Then both go to 707 Corps to qualify as agents. They stand out and get noticed by the National Security System (NSS) and become the top agents and top sniper , he is smart, cool head, have charisma and perfectly carries out his missions.
He meet agent Choi Seung Hee there and become love of his life and both fall in love .
Choi Seung Hee
A psychological analyst who works at secret intelligence organization, NSS. Her secret lovers is her colleague at NSS, Kim Hyun Joon. But because of a friend’s betrayal, their love story is threatened.
Jin Sa Woo
He falls in love for Seung Hee at first sight. But as Hyun Joon and Seung Hee become close, Sa Woo fights to hide his feelings for Seung Hee. He tries to be happy for Hyun Joon. And then he begin struggles to obey orders. And finally, is he betraying his close friend Hyun Joon?
Park Chul Yung
He is a team leader for North Korean security agents. Fiercely dedicated to his work, he is capable of dying for his beliefs, and once he fixes on a target, he never gives up.
Kim Sun Hwa
She is a North Korean security agent who follows her boss, Park Chul Yung, like a shadow. An intense agent who believes that failure is always soon followed by death. She is ordered to chase after Kim Hyun Joon, but apparently falls in love with him after Hyun Joon saves her life and she being discarded by her country.
Vick
Vick is an assassin for IRIS, a secret organization hidden in the United States. He is a cold-blooded killer with a 100% kill rate. He has been assigned to kill Kim Hyun Joon.

I watched here in Korea as the production was happening and even experienced traffic problems while they were filming close to the US Embassy and It is way better that 24. MANY PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THAT THE SECOND PART OF ARIS IS CALLED ATHENA and they sell it in the Electronic Market with English subtitles. Not the same characters (Obviously) However, same agency NSS.

I amazed with the nature the Drama. Unfortunately I will be happy if it is not the reflection of the real world but it is more than reflection it’s real and live event how we African suffer. I have saw IRIS for the second time even two time the same film with one week but I feel the same. And we are like Kim So-Yeon we are full of loving heart but will die once for one and other time for other one!

Girl is the daughter of Mr. Blk, the hero was shot but did not die in the end, most likely was shot but will be saved for Iris 2. That is my hope: hehehehehe Otherwise that will totally sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i start love kim so yeon when i watch prosecutor princess..then i buy iris dvd coz kim so yeon..& i love this drama & kim so yeon role in iris…i also prefer hyun joon will ends up with seonhwa…at the end hyun joon died but i think he still alive coz iris 2 will aired in 2011…Iris 2 will start filming in March, 2011 with the aim of airing of the series on KBS2 in October of 2011..”IRIS 2″ will take place 3 years after the death of Hyeon-Jun (Lee Byung-Hun) and reveal more details on Hyeon-Jun’s death, the arrest of Baek San (Kim Yeong-Cheol) for his IRIS activities, and the identity of Mr. Black who controlled Baek San…i can’t wait iris 2..i want to see again kim so yeon…

You all must watch “Prosecutor Princess” which the heroin is played by Kim So Yeon.. Best ever drama..
As much as I have enjoyed the series, episode 20, in particular, is plagued with inconsistencies. When the NSS lab director Oh “discovered” the terrorists had disguised the hostages as terrorists and made a safe escape to attack the press conference, it is clearly inconsistent with the fact that the “hostages disguised as terrorists” were firing at NSS agent Kim Hyun-Joon! If they were indeed fake terrorists, shouldn’t they be giving up their weapons and surrender instead?

Ok, the reason that Kim Hyun Joon dies in the end is because Lee Byung Hun is going to be too busy filming G.I. Joe II that he does not have time to participate in IRIS 2. Shame, I know, but Hollywood does offer lots of money. Apparently someone like Kwon Sang Woo might be in IRIS 2. tyu, seung hee couldn’t have killed hyun joon because the episode showed her at the lighthouse; plus, why would she have killed someone she was hoping to marry?
For those excited for IRIS 2, keep in mind that the sniper/shooter had to have come from the ocean (possibly a boat?). Since the passengers side window was cracked, and since it was facing the ocean while the car was being driven, that’s the only possibility, no doubt.
